Welcome to Bicton Netball Club!
Whether you’re a first-time player or a seasoned netballer, we’d love to have you join our club community. Bicton Netball Club is all about fun, fitness, and fostering a supportive environment for players of all ages and skill levels.
Registrations
Registrations generally open in late December to early January each year. To join, simply:
- Visit our ‘Current Season’ registration page for links, full details, and general information about the upcoming season.
- Complete your registration through the PlayHQ portal.
- Submit payment to secure your spot for the season.
We recommend registering early, as spots can fill quickly, particularly in popular age groups. If teams are full or we don’t have enough players to form a new team, you may be placed on a waitlist.
Why a waitlist, you ask? While we love welcoming all interested players, netball teams need 7 players on court, so our teams are usually made up of 8–9 players. This ensures everyone gets quality game time and a fair share of playing time throughout the season.
Priority for Returning Members: Returning members have a two-week priority window before registrations open to the public.
Pre-Season Skills Sessions & Grading
U8 & U9 Players – Pre-Season Skills Sessions
At Bicton Netball Club, we hold pre-season skills sessions in February/March for our U8 and U9 players. These sessions are a fun-filled way to welcome new and returning players. Kids can come with friends, meet new teammates, participate in skills and drills, and play some scratch matches to get ready for the season.
U10 and Older – Grading Days
For registered U10+ players, two grading days (February/March) are held to assess skills, gameplay, and attitude. Grading helps us place players in teams and divisions that match their skill level. These days are relaxed and friendly—players can showcase their abilities, meet coaches, and get a feel for the team environment.
Skills First Philosophy
Bicton Netball Club is a skills-first club. We focus on player development, ensuring everyone enjoys their season and is placed in a team that reflects their skills and abilities, within a fair and competitive division.

Team Placements & Friendships
We know kids love playing with their friends—and we love that too! Sometimes we can’t place everyone with their preferred teammate, but that’s okay. Every player is guaranteed a fun, exciting season where they’ll laugh, learn, and grow on the court. Being part of a team is a great way to make new friends, try new things, and build friendships that can last a lifetime. Many of our players form friendships on the court that they carry with them for years, both in netball and beyond! By the end of the season, your child might just discover netball buddies they’ll see and cheer for for years to come!
At Bicton Netball Club, it’s not just about playing netball—it’s about building friendships, supporting each other, and being part of a welcoming community. We can’t wait to see you on the court!
